Well known Tranter

History

Tranter is a company that specializes in the design and production of heat exchangers for a wide range of industries, including chemical processing, power generation, refrigeration, and oil and gas. The company was founded in 1937 by R. E. Tranter, who invented a new type of gasketed plate heat exchanger that was more efficient and easier to maintain than existing designs.

Tranter’s early success was driven by the demand for more efficient heat exchangers in the chemical industry, which was growing rapidly at the time. The company expanded rapidly, opening new facilities in the United States and Europe to meet the needs of its customers.

In the 1960s, Tranter began to focus on developing new technologies and products to meet the needs of emerging industries, such as nuclear power and offshore oil and gas production. This led to the development of new heat exchanger designs, including welded plate heat exchangers and spiral heat exchangers, which were ideal for use in challenging environments.

In the 1990s, Tranter continued to innovate, introducing new heat exchanger designs that were more compact, more efficient, and easier to maintain. The company also expanded its operations globally, opening new facilities in Asia, South America, and the Middle East.

Today, Tranter is a leading manufacturer of heat exchangers, with a global network of sales and service offices that serve customers in more than 50 countries. The company continues to innovate, developing new technologies and products to meet the changing needs of its customers in a wide range of industries.

GX plates

The ultraflex GX plate has been made for their asymmetrical flow. This plates own the particularity to have a supplementary gasket on the periphery of the plate. This supplementary gasket permit to limits the leak risks. O-rings are also present on two of the openings of a first plate and on the other two openings of the following plate, thus forming the closed circuit. These double seals prevent the flows from mixing.

This plates have a different chevron to optimize the exchanger in each domain. For example, there are plates with a high angle (L) to limit the pressure losses and plates with a large angle (H) to have a bigger flow.

GC plates

Belonging to the GCP range, the GC plates are adapted to domains who looking for a low flow. This plates have a regular chevron for a parallel flow.

GFP plates

GFP plates has been made to avoid the fouling and extend maintenance lead times. These plates have been designed to last longer over time, and therefore require less frequent maintenance. These plates can be found in sugar mills, paper mills, alcohol factories, the chemical industry, distilleries and the textile industry.

Suitable seals for this type of plate are made of NBR and EPDM.

GD plates

GD plates, also known as “double plates”, have been designed with extreme care. These plates are designed to ensure that there is under no circumstances any mixing between the two flows, as this could lead to a chemical reaction, or worse, product contamination. Generally, when there is a leak, it can be easily detected without having to dismantle the exchanger.

This type of plate can be found in the food and pharmaceutical industries.

The TRANTER brand offers bonded gaskets made of EPDM, BUTYLE, NBR, NEOPRENE, HYPALON, VITON etc.. But it also offers clip-on gaskets to suit all processes and temperatures up to 180°C.

The brand also offers clip-on gaskets useful in applications where exchangers need to be opened frequently for cleaning purposes, or in applications using aggressive products that can impact gasket life. Clip-on gaskets are manufactured in two materials: NBR or EPDM.

These tranter phe gaskets comply with FDA standards. These standards are imposed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and apply to products entering the U.S. market.

MCD® gaskets, also known as equivalent gaskets, share the same characteristics as OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) gaskets. They are available at low prices on the secondary market. For the same stamp, it’s important to remember that raw materials are the primary selection criterion for seal manufacture. Its origins determine its quality. The secret lies in the raw materials, not the brand.

MCD is a world leader in the manufacture and sale of elastomer seals, offering a wide range of TRANTER seals. Following the same characteristics as TRANTER, MCD® certified seals guarantee the same quality standards as the original.

MCD® gaskets are manufactured from 100% European raw materials and tested by a team of technical experts.
