Sondex was founded in 1984 in Aarhus, Denmark, by Niels Due Jensen. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s SONDEX experienced a quick growth by expanding its products range and developing new international markets. In 1994, the company was acquired by the German group Krupp Hoesch, which later mixed with Thyssen AG to become ThyssenKrupp AG.
In 2003, SONDEX was sold to a group of Danish private investors who took over the company and launched an ambitious program to modernize production and expand internationally. Under their leadership, SONDEX became a global company with subsidiaries worldwide, including in Europe, North America, and Asia.
In 2010, SONDEX was acquired by the Swiss industrial group Danfoss, a global leader in control and regulation technologies for the energy and climate sectors. Since then, SONDEX has been a part of Danfoss Heat Exchangers, a division of Danfoss that manufactures and sells plate and tube heat exchangers for a wide range of industrial applications. This partnership has become powerful due to the expertise of both entities. Their products are renowned for reducing maintenance and service costs to decrease energy consumption. In 2018, the Sondex brand was fully integrated into the Danfoss brand to expand their product ranges in the heat exchanger market.
Today, SONDEX continues to be a major player in the global heat exchanger market, providing efficient and durable cooling and heating solutions for a wide range of industries, including chemical, oil and gas, food, and pharmaceutical industries.
