For several years, MCD has been committed to an ambitious ecological transition approach, resulting in a 2.5M € investment over the past 5 years. This substantial amount of money has funded innovative projects, all focused on the same goal: to make MCD an exemplary company in terms of sustainable development without ever compromising the quality of its services or its performance.
Concrete investments
Among the major investments are the installation of a surface treatment line and a water treatment plant, two essential infrastructures to reduce pollution from industrial waste. These pieces of equipment not only allow us to better control our production processes, but also to significantly reduce our water consumption and limit its contamination rate.
Other investments are enhancing this momentum, such as the purchase of a high-performance refrigeration unit, ensuring more efficient energy management, and the implementation of an energy recovery system able to recover the heat usually lost during our industrial processes.
A look at the future
Green mobility is also an integral part of our environmental strategy. To support these major changes, 10 charging stations for electric vehicles have been installed, facilitating our teams’ transition to cleaner mobility. Our company vehicle fleet also illustrates this commitment. Indeed, 78% of our vehicles are electric and the other 22% are hybrid. This remarkable performance illustrates our commitment to taking concrete action toward more sustainable ways of transport.
Daily commitments
Beyond these major projects, MCD is also setting up a whole series of daily measures that, taken together, contribute to transforming our consumption habits. For example, 100% of the electricity we consume every day comes from renewable energy sources, demonstrating our will to limit the carbon footprint of our business.
At the same time, we devote more than €16,000 to recycling each year. This fully voluntary initiative helps to reduce landfill waste and promotes an economy in which materials are recycled rather than thrown away.
In addition, we have new vacuum systems to improve air quality in our workshops, as well as insulation work in order to optimize our overall energy performance.
