History

SWEP is a Swedish company specialized in the design and manufacture of plate heat exchangers. The company was founded in 1983 by Dr. Sven Wingquist, who is also the founder of SKF, a bearing manufacturer.

Initially, SWEP was a relatively modest company, producing gasket heat exchangers for domestic heating and cooling applications. However, due to its commitment to quality and innovation, the company quickly gained popularity and started expanding its operations globally.

During the 1990s, SWEP expanded its product range to include gasket heat exchangers for industrial and refrigeration applications. The company also broadened its international presence by opening sales offices and production sites worldwide.

Over the years, SWEP continued to grow, both through strategic acquisitions and organic growth. In 2006, the company was acquired by the Swedish group Dover Corporation, a global provider of innovative technologies and solutions.

Today, SWEP is one of the leading manufacturers of gasket heat exchangers globally, with sales offices and production sites in more than 20 countries.
